Paris-based Satellite's founder Sandrine Dulon has released scents, inspired by her worldly travels. Padparadscha, the brand's debut scent, was a peppery piquant scent named after the rare sapphire of the same moniker. But Dulon has since done a bit more digging, and released four new scents, each inspired by her worldly travels. A turquoise blend, Ipanema captures the crisp aroma of the tropics with notes of freesia, coconut, and tonka bean (!?) while Corrida, a fiery red concoction with lush undertones of black currant and jasmine, is as spirited as the Spanish bullfights that it's named after. The blushing A La Figue! and sun-kissed 40° à l'Ombre (meaning 40° in the shade) are playfully lighter scents, but nonetheless far more fetching than a flask of shoreline. Sandrine Dulon's creations are always quite an original, personal and stylish mix of juvenile imagination, ethological spirit and recollections from her various travels around the world. Knowledge acquired through long years of experience brings immeasurable benefit to any creative act. Sandrine has found this to be true in the quest for the perfect fragrance, which at its best should bring to mind exotic destinations, secret gardens or merely the beauty and strength of the feminine.
Ipanema is summer romance in a bottle, the color of the bottle is clear, bright turqoise blue.
Citrus fruits like orange and grapefruit swirl around and ylang and white flowers right at the beginning, while a soft coconut, tonka bean and vanilla come to the party and pure bliss ensues. Around it all is the feel of the sea…the scent of a crystal clear ocean from a white sand beach. Not salty, not briney, just…reminiscent of all the things that are amazing about the shore. It’s a perfectly harmonious scent…unique without being weird, balanced without being boring. A true star in the Satellite line.
