Aside from the screenings, Cannes Film Festival has become the ultimate place for making PR be seen and create awareness. In some figure, the film festival reunites each year more than 3,500 journalists, 260 TV teams, 28,000 accredited guests of more than 106 nationalities. The film festival is an incredible window to be seen, to come directly in contact with all the top representatives from the media industry, luxury industry, fashion industry and most evidently the film industry. The 60th Cannes Festival will take place during the period of 16-27 May and will place the art of the film at the centre for a couple of weeks. An inventive selection that is neither too traditional nor too sophisticated, a selection that is the most international in the world, open to all film genres and without forgetting the foremost among them - that of the love of film, a selection that is attentive to the arrival of new generations and which combines all the necessary conditions for the films to be hosted and honoured in the great tradition of the Festival de Cannes, a daring selection that seizes the best of the moment, a selection that creates desire, that triggers curiosity, that carries that certain vitality which currently fills film today and gives a hint of the film of tomorrow, a selection that helps these films, cinema, its creators and artists to exist and to continue their work....
While being in Cannes don't forget to go and see the major exhibition of photography in tandem with the Cannes Film Festival. The likes of David Lynch and Isabelle Huppert posed for portraits by Lagerfeld, along with 58 other film folk, the majority of them French.
La légende de Cannes de Henry Jean Servat, is a lovley book filled with photos of Cannes and could be the perfect way to start the preparing for the international film festival.
