Ulrika Lundgren's month-old boutique Rika in Amsterdam is a great store. The ex-pat Swede is making a name for herself with her star-appliqué leather bags and simple sixties-ish sheath dresses—Paris' Colette, London's Browns Focus, New York's Butik, and Chicago's Blake have all placed orders which she designs on the second floor of the jewel-box shop in the city's Jordan neighborhood. On the shelves, Lundgren's own wares mix with those of Jane Mayle, Jo Wood Organics, Jane K Star, and Christensen & Sigersen. The selection is personal (Lundgren's taste is above reproach) and the staffing is stellar: Sylvia van der Klooster, a onetime Dolce & Gabbana muse and aspiring designer (wo)mans the shop.
