

Following New York's residential rise after 1873 the earliest building along East 67th Street occurred in 1879 with the construction of Nos. 12 - 26 until by the year 1885 the entire block was built up with townhouses designed specifically for families of great wealth. Among its most prominent Victor Henry Rothschild (No. 6) and department store magnate Joseph B. Bloomingdale (No. 11).
