If you've got the clothes, handbag and shoes then the next port of call is to stay at the fashion boutique hotel.The latest designer to open a fully branded fashion hotel is Italian label Moschino, which has announced the opening of a hotel in Milan, planned for sometime in 2008. Moschino is the latest designer clothing line to join the bunch of fashion hotels. The hotel will first open in Milan in the fashion district, Citta della Moda, and if successful, will expand to other cities.
"We want to create a different hotel from what is the typical scene, one that will reflect Moschino's philosophy and whimsical image" says a Moschino exec.
Other Italian fashion houses that have opened hotels include Miss Sixty, Bulgari, Versace, Ferragamo and Missoni. Fashion designer Giorgio Armani signed a deal last year to open up 10 Armani Hotels worldwide, with the first hotel opening in Dubai sometime in 2008. There's not shortage of fashion designers getting in on the hotel game, but Christian LaCroix seems to be doing it the best. Wallpaper has awarded his personally designed, Hotel du Petit Moulin in Paris as "Best New Hotel of the Year".If you never get the chance to attend a Parisian fashion show, staying in this hotel should suffice. Walking into the perfectly lit and highly dramatic rooms should put a little catwalk into anyone's entrance.

Miss Sixty wasn't the first jeanswear line to open up a hotel.
Diesel Jeans did it with the Pelican Hotel in 1994 in Miami. But this isn't some opulent hotel with extravagant furniture and gold-plated everything. Instead, this hotel has recycled furniture, recylced oak floors and all-natural toiletries.

From a marketing point of view, expanding into hotel design is a win-win situation, as the entire hotel is a big advertisement for the brand. "It's another way for the designers to get the message out to the masses," says PricewaterhouseCoopers hospitality consultant Sean Hennessey. "There are a huge number of people who come through a hotel each day, and it's the exact audience that the designer wants to target."
We'll be sure of two things: that it will be a hit with the fashion crowd, and that Bulgari bath products will be pulled from the bathrooms
