Mercedes Benz snglasses

Mercedes-Benz is trying something new, and they're jumping in with both feet. In collaboration with Allison SpA, they've come up with designs for 40 different eyeglass and sunglass frames. They unveiled the new endeavor at the recently concluded Fashion Week in Berlin, and I have to say that I think they've really gotten it right. The designs look hip and modern, but not so trendy that they're not versatile enough for everyday wear. Prices range from $233-$330 for the Mercedes-Benz eyeglass frames and $220-$357 for the sunglasses

Marlene Dietrich & Mont Blanc

Dedicated to actress and singer Marlene Dietrich, this beautiful Marlene Dietrich Commemoration Edition fountain pen from Montblanc is available in a limited edition of 1,901. The cap and barrel are made of 925 Sterling Silver with a fine barley guilloche. On the cap a blue mother-of-pearl inlay houses the Montblanc signet, as well as a single deep blue sapphire (reminiscent of Dietrich's eyes) and 22 brilliant cut diamonds. It also has a platinum-plated 18k gold nib with delicate engraving and a heart-shaped hole. And of course there's an engraving of Marlene Dietrich's signature on the barrel ring.
Azzedine Alaia

3 rooms at 5 Moussy are three fabulous apartments that designer extradonaire Azzedine Alaia rents out next door to his atelier in the Marais. The spacious, sleek, and gorgeous apartments look like they jumped off the pages of Wallpaper magazine. They measure 100 square meters (about 1100 square feet) and there is a1 one bedroom apartment, and 2 two-bedroom apartments. You enter the 18th century building on a quiet small, 1 block street in the Marais through black iron doors with rows of horizontal pin dot holes and up the winding, highly polished wooden staircase. Once inside, the apartments are pristine with concrete floors and all your favorite mid-century modern furniture designs including Jean Nouvel, Marc Newsom, and Arne Jacobsen, all from Azzedine’s private collection. They have full kitchens and state of the art electronic toys including a printer/scanner, high-speed internet access, flat screen television and a Bang & Olufsen entertainment center. The prices start at 450 euros a night and increase 50 euros for each additional guest. In the scheme of Paris luxury hotels and rental apartments, this is a relative bargain compared to the small standard rooms at the Ritz, Crillon, George V, etc, which start at 650 euros a night.
Hotel Bellechasse - Paris

Hotel Bellechasse, with rooms designed by Christian Lacroix, has just opened in the 7th arr.
The lobby is not in Lacroix’s elaborate style or the minimalist style of the past. The rooms are pure Lacroix couture down to the last silk tassel. Divided into a series of 7 categories with names like Avengers (an ode to Emma Peel), Musketeer, Quai d’Orsay, St. Germain, Jeu de Paume, Patchwork, and Tuileries, the 34 rooms run the gamut of decorating styles, from modern sleek to Baroque dark and cozy. One series of rooms, which has a shiny, white bathtub in the middle of the room with dark walls, were clearly designed for a romantic Paris weekend. Most of the rooms have whimsical print wall murals made out of waterproof fabric, with many in a butterfly motif. The most amusing one was the series of large old playing cards murals.

Milk - Los Angeles

fire-engine bench and 10-gallon milk sign point discerning label churners to chic feminine pieces hung on walls that are stenciled with excerpts from romantic novels. Vintage icons (Chanel, Christian Dior) share roomy racks with fresh arrivals such as Philosophy, Patricia Underwood and Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent. Antique tables host a bevy of denim cuts, sweet charm necklaces, elegant accessories, lingerie, head wraps, round-toed heels and unique flats. LOVE milk! It's such a cute store and I stop in whenever I can or go to Toast and always find something cute. In my experience the girls who work there are so cute and sweet and chatty with me always and make really good recommendations! I personally like that they're not desperate and all over me to buy something and are always super honest. Also, I actually went in once when Rachel Bilson was in there...A must-see on L.A.'s frenetic 3rd Avenue, this spacious boutique offers a profusion of fashionable wares in a welcoming, no-attitude setting. Cousins and co-owners Marni Flans and Bari Milken can best be described as fashion chameleons. They go from super femme to urban warrior with ease, which is why they stock the store with a little bit of everything. From super casual T-shirts and denim to more amped-up ensembles, they've brought together an assortment of hip designs from labels including Stretsis, McQ by Alexander McQueen, Manoush, Derek Lam, Daryl K., Erotokritos, and Sea, among others. In addition to women's clothes, there are shoes, handbags, jewelry, lingerie, swimwear, candles, kid's T-shirts, beauty products, books, even a small men's section. "It's a one-stop shop," Marni asserts. "We like to dress our customers from head-to-toe."
Hardwood floors, dark wood furniture, and an oversized antique map on the wall gives the shop an appealing den-like feel. Vintage luggage, books, and old milk bottles scattered throughout the store lend both a touch more décor as well as additional showcase space. The duo confirmed their vision with a stenciled quote on a large wall near the front of the shop, which was taken from a book about a fashionable girl, but that doesn't say it all about the shop's loyal clientele. “The Milk girl is a jet-setter,” says Marni. “But we want all kinds of people to feel welcome here. Our customers range from young hipsters to a more conservative, sophisticated woman—there really is something for everybody

Reminiscent of Hotel costes but not quite so over the top. Excellent place to sip bubbly. The courtyard with a massive vertical garden is one of the best in Paris.

Hotel Amour eschews the superluxe approach going in soley for style. The ground floor neobrasserie and bar, decked with mismatched mid century chairs, draws a young and beaufil cowd. Hipsters pack the back garden all summer long. A project of nighlife scion Thierry Costes, Baron upstart André, and Emmanuel Delavenne.

The Experimental Cocktail Club opened a few weeks ago, rue Saint Sauveur.
As the name implies, this is a cocktail bar. And a very cool one : cosy armchairs, lounge music and DJ’s, friendly team behind the bar… The place is already a success, and can be overcrowded after eleven. This sexy cool bar is run by three hip young French men. Sleek, young, edgy and beautiful could describe both the décor (done by a New Yorker) and the clientele. Live DJs, friendly staff, and affordable (€10) cocktails keep it real. The minimalist-neo-baroque setting with black chesterfields and a zinc bar make for the perfect backdrop to the Champagne and vodka cocktails. I particularly like the Experimental 1, but so far I haven't had a bad cocktail here!

Chic Hotels in Paris

Hotel 123 is the 8th arrondissement’s latest rendez vous for haute couture style, put together by the talent of architect-designer Philippe Maidenberg. A melting-pot of styles and atmospheres makes this Boutique Hotel, with its feminine allure, a place where men feel good too. The sparkling chandelier by Ombre Portée with over 3,000 Swarovski crystals, parquet floors and marble with inlaid fibre optics, a white feather lamp by Mat & Jewski, and red crystal heart-shaped sconces contribute to the hotel’s magic. Some rooms feature cut stone, others a four-post bed, and some bathrooms look out to a starry sky above a zinc roof… Some of the objects of Ligne 123, Philippe Maidenberg’s furniture range conceived for Hotel 123, include bar stools, the restaurant’s leather and chain mail tables, crystal wall lights (with Ombre Portée), bedside tables, headboards and desks. Curtain fabrics were also specially created--tailor-made, naturally--for this couture hotel.

Each room offers its own personality ans its own atmosphere. The artists of the Van Rijn's art studio have created for each room a painting representing all of, or a detail of a classic masterpiece, to which they have added a additional touch representing an element of the room decoration. So, a hat, a stole or o blouse discreetly takes the pattern "Panther of Zebra" from the bed spread.
The Hote Le Walt is located close to the Saint Germain des Prés shos and the traditional market og the Cler's Street. Many Museums, historic monuments and gourmet restaurant are close.

Sisley ad - Fashion is one hell of a Drug

A new Sisley advertisement has surfaced on the internet which has caused nothing less than a frenzy in the fashion world. The advertisement that is supposed to represent the Bennetton brand Sisley has been circulating the internet featuring two glamorous models snorting two straps of a white mini-dress as if they were lines of cocaine. Bennetton, the Italian clothing brand that is renowned for producing controversial ad campaigns has released a statement claiming that the ad is in fact “completely fake”. Sisley released an official statement on their website regarding the mock advertisement stating: “One of these images shows some girls ’sniffing a vest.’ The allusion to drugs and alcohol is more than clear. We would like to clearly state that the Sisley brand (and the Benetton company) has nothing to do with these images and therefore we refuse to be linked with them.” The company is currently in the process of taking legal
