
The Morgan Library & Museum in New York has an extraordinary exhibition that runs until April 27.Seventy-nine masterpieces of Renaissance drawing are on view in 'Michelangelo, Vasari, and Their Contemporaries: Drawings from the Uffizi'. This exhibition presents a survey of Florentine draftsmanship of the sixteenth century from Michelangelo and Pontormo to Vasari and the mannerists such as Bronzino and Alessandro Allori. Drawings by artists who worked on the frescoes, paintings, tapestries, and other decorative work that embellished the magnificent Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, initially the town hall and then home to the Medici dukes, are the main focus of the exhibition. Taschen has a new book that show Michelangelo’s complete works.
